Chennai: Arts for a cause. Performances by Bombay Jayashri, Gowri Ramnarayan, Anita Ratnam

AIM for Seva hosts its annual fundraiser event Ananda on March 7, 8 and 9, 2019. Well-known aritistes Bombay Jayashri Ramnath, Gowri Ramnarayan and Anita Ratnam join hands to present music, theatre and dance programmes on these days.

On March 7, 2019 at 6.30 p.m., Bombay Jayashri will present her tribute to her Gurus - music guru Lalgudi Jayaraman and her spiritual guru Swami Dayananda Saraswati in the form of a novel musical format, Chintaye Guruvaram. With a unique curation of songs in a never-seen-before presentation, this performance brings to fore the sublime bliss that we experience when grace is showered upon us. This is the first concert of its kind by  Bombay Jayashri Ramnath. She will be joined by H.N. Bhaskar (Violin), Chandan Kumar (flute), Delhi Sairam (Mridangam), B.S. Purushotham (Kanjira), Somasekar Jois (Konnakol), Lakshmi Parthasarathy Athreya & Bhavajan Kumar (Bharatanatyam) and her disciples Keerthana Nath, Swetha Sriram and Chitra Poornima.

On March 8, 2019,  Kurukshetra: When Things Fall Apart, a theatre performance directed by Dr. Gowri Ramnarayan that will bring about deep questions and profound answers through three characters from the Mahabharata.

On March 9, 2019, Dr. Anita Ratnam will present 'A Million Sitas', a dance production that will take the audience on a journey through the Ramayana – as seen through the eyes of Sita herself.

This event is a fun-raiser event and the proceeds will go to fund three projects initiated by AIM for Seva. Donor passes are available at Rs. 2000, Rs. 1000, Rs. 500 and Rs. 300 online at and at AIM for Seva office (Srinidhi Apartments, No.4, Desika Road, Mylapore, Chennai–600004) and Chamiers Cafe (New No. 106, Old No. 79, Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar Road, Raja Annamalai Puram, Chennai–600028.

The events will be held at The Music Academy, TTK Road, Chennai.
