Chennai based Gayatri Fine Arts celebrates the veteran T. Brinda by hosting an evening of music and talk on Feb. 29, 2020.
T. Brinda, whose rich musical renderings are revered by many senior and present-day musicians, is among the rare artistes who sang, played the veena, specialised in singing beautiful gamakas and had an immense knowledge of laya.
Brindamma Day, as the organises calls it, the event will be held at Arkay Convention Centre, Royapettah High Road, Mylapore, Chennai - 4
At 5.15 p.m., a vocal concert by Thiruvarur Girish accompanied by Nagai Muralidharan on the violin and Delhi Sairam on the mridangam will be held.
Following this, Kiranavali Vidyasankar, a vocalist who trained under T. Brinda will present a talk titled 'The Extraordinary Brindamma' is scheduled.
Senior vocalist Rama Ravi will present a concert along with her daughter and disciple Nandita Ravi, Sruti Sarathy on the violin and Kallidaikurichi Sivakumar on the mridangam.
Admission is free to all the events of the day.
